New benchmarks put PRIMERGY TX100 S1 straight in at the top of the one-socket servers charts

Two world records already set by new entry-level server

Fujitsu today announced that independent benchmarking tests put its new entry-level server, the PRIMERGY TX100 S1 , straight in at the top of the charts – assuring small- and medium-size customers that the upgrade to a business-class server really does pay dividends.

The PRIMERGY TX100 S1 model set two new world records in the one-socket server class in benchmarking tests overseen by SPEC ® , the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation. These are in the categories for energy efficiency, and for performance running typical server side Java business applications.

The Energy Star 5.0-compliant PRIMERGY TX100 S1 was designed to save energy. Validation comes in the form of the SPECpower_ssj2008 benchmark, which evaluates server power and performance characteristics. In tests, the PRIMERGY TX100 S1 set a new world record for one-socket servers, with 1,500 overall ssj_ops/watt.

Underlining its operational capabilities, the new entry-level PRIMERGY model also set a new high score in the SPECjbb2005 benchmark, which evaluates the performance of server side Java . In the category for single-socket servers, the PRIMERGY TX100 S1 racked up a SPECjbb2005 score of 223,691 business operations per second (SPECjbb2005 bops) and 111,846 bops/JVM.
