Use of recycled plastic and metal for robustness

To preserve the Earth’s limited resources, prioritizing recycling and resource reuse is crucial. Wacom is dedicated to fostering a recycling-focused society by incorporating recycled plastic in significant elements like product housing. Balancing durability and recyclability, we adopt a hybrid strategy, utilizing metal for sturdy components like stands while employing recycled plastic for others, fostering both resilience and eco-friendliness.

Eco-design for sustainability by Wacom

To contribute to a sustainable world, our manufacturing efforts prioritize environmental consciousness. This involves exploring eco-friendly materials, like recycled plastics for product housing, and utilizing FSC-certified paper in packaging. These initiatives extend to our latest products, including the Wacom Cintiq Pro and Wacom One, both showcasing our commitment to sustainability.

Environmental Considerations in packaging materials

Wacom prioritizes FSC-certified paper for packaging and instructional materials, ensuring adherence to international standards for sustainable forest management and environmental considerations. This certification verifies responsible forest practices, aiming to curb illegal logging and promote sustainable forestry. For certain protective needs, like shielding AC adapters, pens, and pen cases from scratches, we employ cotton or plant-derived polylactic acid (PLA) where FSC paper isn’t feasible.

Additionally, our commitment extends to utilizing an array of eco-friendly materials in packaging, minimizing reliance on petroleum-based plastics wherever possible.

Reducing product weight and packaging size

Streamlining product sizes and decreasing weight usage contribute to the efficient utilization of our planet’s finite resources. Shrinking product dimensions and packaging not only creates smaller, lighter items but also lowers CO2 emissions during transportation.
